Summary: I have always enjoyed being on the water, and achieved that with my 12 foot inflatable boat. After using an electric trolling motor and battery to cruise lakes and streams, I wanted to expand my range with solar. I developed a charge control system and integrated two 100 watt solar panels. I used this setup on many boating trips and enjoyed having over double the range of just the battery. I had tested the solar panels and electrical system though a series of experiments in the winter months. This can be seen in the last image.
Systems Used: Fusion 360, Cura, Ender 3, CD-Circuit Design, and Excel Summary: A friend of mine is an avid blacksmith and was looking for a rock tumbler to finish some ironwork, Using components of a treadmill, I was able to build out a fully functional rock tumbler. The requirement was that it needed to be battery powered as their shop had no electricity. The DC treadmill motor is powered from a 12v battery and is controlled by a PWM controller. I even designed the enclosure for the motor controller and power switch.
Systems Used: 123Design, Cura, Ender 3 Summary: During the covid-19 pandemic, I was unable to use my local gym. To provide some resistance to a makeshift spin bike, I created a bike powered generator. Using different resistances I was able to have control when spinning.
Systems Used: 123Design, Cura, Ender 3 Summary: I acquired a pulse wave generator that output a square waveform. My application required a sinusoidal waveform to perform properly. Using resistors and capacitors, I was able to smooth out the waveform for my application.
